Following on the heels of Olga Neuwirth’s opera Lost Highway (yes, it’s based on the David Lynch film) and the forthcoming operas Il Postino (by Osvaldo Golijov), The Fly (Howard Shore), and Brokeback Mountain (Charles Wuorinen), now we get the news that La Scala has commissioned composer Giorgio Battistelli to compose an opera of the Al Gore documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
